Dee Edington, Ph.D - Keynote
Founder and Chairman, Edington Associates, LLC 

Dee Edington, Ph.D is the Founder and Chairman of Edington Associates, LLC. He is the Founder and Professor of the University of Michigan Health Management Research Center and was the Director of the Center until June 2011. In addition to his research and teaching, Dr. Edington spent 25 years in academic administration. Trained in mathematics, kinesiology, and biochemistry, Dr. Edington received his B.S and Ph.D degrees from Michigan State University and completed his M.S. at Florida State University. He did post-doctoral work at the University of Toronto and taught at the University of Massachusetts before coming to Michigan in 1976. 

Dr. Edington’s research focuses on the precursors of disease and vitality. His interest is in the relationships between healthy lifestyles, vitality, and quality of life, as they benefit both individuals and organizations. He is specifically interested in how individual health management, worksite wellness activities, and programs within organizations impact health care cost containment, productivity, and human resource development.

He is the author or co-author of over 800 articles, presentations, and several books, including:

Erica Ellis and Chris Alvarez - Facilitators, Breakout Session A

Erica Ellis and Chris Alvarez are Product/User Experience Designers at Pivotal Labs, where they create innovative product experiences backed by research and user testing.

Erica has over eight years of industry experience building digital products—continually crossing, and occasionally blurring, the lines between visual design, user experience, product and research. She has a human, user-centered philosophy, that benefits not only design and product, but also guides communications and business development. Erica has worked with clients across finance, medical, property, insurance and the connected home—from startups to large enterprises to nonprofits.

Chris loves discovering problems and has a passion for finding new ways to solve them. He continuously looks for ways to provide more engaging, influential, and sophisticated interactions using contemporary digital mediums.  


Marissa Kalkman - Facilitator, Breakout Session B

Account Executive, Health Risk Solutions, Lockton Companies 

Marissa Kalkman is an experienced health promotion professional with broad aptitude from over 10 years in roles specializing in wellness and health management. Her passion and purpose is to achieve sustainable health and wellness outcomes for individuals and groups through the creative delivery of programs that support and empower healthy lifestyles. As an Account Executive for the Health Risk Solutions practice at Lockton Companies, she partners with employer clients to develop employee health management and well being strategies. Marissa serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Society for Public Health Education (COSOPHE) as the Co-Chair for Continuing Education, where she collaborates with like-minded public health and health education professionals from various backgrounds to provide leadership and advocacy for public health in the Colorado community.


Rob Andrew - Moderator, Breakout Session C
Senior Vice President, Lockton Companies

Rob specializes in helping companies maximize the quality and minimize the cost of their qualified plans, employee benefits, and commercial risk programs. He has spent over 24 years in this industry and is an employee benefits expert with a real nose for strategy and problem solving for clients. Rob actively searches out and serves companies to solve complex problems impacting their human capital and bottom lines, making their businesses better and more profitable.

 


Colleen Reilly - Moderator, Breakout Session D
VP Well-Being, Telligen

Colleen Reilly is the VP, Well-Being at Telligen. She was the former president and founder of Total Well-Being. Colleen has a rich and deep experience within the health and well-being industry, repeatedly helping companies make major strides in building and sustaining high well-being engagement within their organization and managing healthcare cost savings.

Some of her biggest accomplishments include increasing program engagement at Nelnet by 100% and saving the organization 10% on their healthcare costs in two years; working Mayo Clinic as a health strategist with more than 60 top Fortune 500 clients as well as catapulting Coors Brewing Company towards achieving awards and accolades of being one of the healthiest workplaces in the United States and saving more than $16M by creating an integrated and comprehensive well-being strategy.
